Hammer The Over Net Neutrality and Star Wars

The guys find themselves in an unfamiliar place this week – discussing a Vikings loss. They all cover Aaron Rodgers’ return from injury, the Wolves, and the Giancarlo Stanton trade. CEO and Star Wars super fan Sam Walczak comes on to discuss the Last Jedi and Fred does his 5 minutes of research on net neutrality.

Man vs Model – Week 14

I’d like to apologize for the absence of the Man vs Model last week – it was my brother’s wedding weekend and as second in line to the best man I had my hands full with responsibility. Really no excuse though so you all have my sincerest apologies… HOWEVAAAAAHHH, the week before last I had my first perfect week going 3-0 against the model and 3-0 on my additional picks. As my grandfather always said “even a blind pig finds a truffle.” Honestly no idea why a pig would be in search of a truffle but the point stands.

Hammer The Over Minnesota Snow and Israel-Palestine

The guys discuss the recent snow fall in Minnesota and why everyone forgets how to drive in the snow every winter. With the Vikings atop the NFC standings, everyone is all in on the potential Super Bowl run… optimism is at an all time high which means heart break is impending. Evan does his 5 minutes of research on Israel-Palestine relations and the guys break down the unwritten rules of ordering at Chipotle.

Hammer The Over Bitcoin, Weddings, and Vikes Super Bowl

The boys are back after a thanksgiving break to discuss all things Vikings, Wolves, and Wild. Tom gives Fred some helpful tips on the unwritten rules of wedding etiquette. Economic correspondent Connor Quinn calls in to give his expert advice on how to handle the Bitcoin craze and the guys give their overs of the week.

Man vs Model – Week 12

It is Thanksgiving Week and if you think there is a better week in the calendar year you are just flat out wrong. Thanksgiving is the best holiday there is and I’ll hear nothing else about it. All of the good parts of Christmas (food, family, football) without any of the stress. Just a really, really nice day. Nothing better than that. We also get to watch the 8-2 Vikings play on Thanksgiving this year which is just the cherry on top to an already perfect day.

Man vs Model – Week 11

Another tough week for the man fighting the good fight against the machine. 1-2 against the model and 2-4 overall. Still have a two-game lead over the model going into Week 11 but if I’m being honest, I’m running out of steam. Feels like I’m just going through the motions out here. Each week I open up the same goddamn sports book, look at the same goddamn teams, and right pretty much the same goddamn bullshit. I’ve officially reached my mid-season blues. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a bye week for a blogger/podcaster/division 3 play-by-play broadcaster so I have no choice but to plunge right back into the shit and try to work my way through this funk.

Hammer The Over Pulse of the Wolves

The guys (sans Tom) give their weekly breakdown of the quarterback situation in Minnesota. With Case playing well last weekend it’s his job for another week, but Teddy is certainly breathing down his neck. They also touch in on the wolves, wild, and why Lebron needs to be consulted about anything and everything that happens in the NBA. Special guest appearance from CEO Sam Walczak who has his finger on the pulse of the Target Center before the Wolves take on the Spurs on Wednesday night.

Hammer The Over NashVegas and Daylights Savings

Evan, Tom, and Fred are back after Evan and Tom survived their weekend in Nashvegas. The guys do a deep dive into the Teddy Bridgewater situation and all that his activation means going forward for the Vikes. They also touch on the Wolves and Wild and weigh in on this whole “daylight savings” situation.

Man vs Model – Week 10

We had an interesting week last week with two pushes in the additional picks section to put me at 2-1 against the model and 2-2-2 overall for the week. The Redskins finally pulled through for me so I’ll probably bet on them about 9 more times this season. I feel like the strategy of betting on overs for games that on the surface seem like they have zero business going over has been working out for me, but I have no statistical data to back that up and I’m not going to go out of my way to find it. I’m just gonna keep trusting the gut and shooting from the hip.

Man vs Model – Week 9

Well here we are again. After an 0-3 week two weeks ago, I bounced back against the model and took week 8 2-1. Unfortunately I also lost all of my additional picks to put me at 2-4 on the week. Not the best showing from me the last couple of weeks and I’m getting desperate as we head towards the second half of the season. As I’m writing this reports are coming out that Deshaun Watson has torn his ACL and is out for the season. Now the model has already given it’s picks and a lesser man might jump on this opportunity to bet against the Texans in relation to the lines the model was working with before the injury, but I’m not going to do that. Too much integrity. As a sign of good faith and respect for my competition I will NOT be betting on the Houston game this week.
