Man vs Model – Week 15

What’s that saying? Water always finds its’ level? Well, after a 6-0 effort my last time on the keyboard I put up a goose egg last week. 0-6. That one hurts. Flying high as hell, thinking I’m the cats meow, and the gambling gods bitch slapped me right back to the stone age. Hate to see it happen to anyone, but especially to myself. But like I seem to say pretty much every week, you gotta just keep your nose to the grind stone and get right back on the horse.

Pittsburgh vs New England | Model Says: Over 53

This actually goes against what I said on Hammer the Over but after doing some more thinking I’m reversing my original decision and going against the model on this one. This smells like a game where Belichick does the opposite of what everyone expects (which is a Big Ben/Brady shootout) and runs the ball 90 times and locks down the seemingly unstoppable Steelers offense. Something doesn’t feel right on this one so I’m gonna take the under.
Final Prediction: Under 53

Kansas City vs LA Chargers| Model Says: LAC -1.5

I think LA is the better team here but you don’t just go into Arrowhead and expect to win no matter who you are. I like the Chiefs at home in what’s essentially a must win for them. Add in the money is on the Chiefs so far since the line is down to a pick em and I’ll take the point.
Final Prediction: Kansas City +1.5

Carolina vs Green Bay | Model Says: Green Bay +2.5

Aaron Rodgers is back. I understand the ramifications that this could POTENTIALLY have on my future happiness but I just don’t see this Green Bay team going to Carolina and coming away with anything other than at least a 3 point loss. No chance Rodgers steps off the bench after half the season and fixes everything that’s wrong with a team that needed overtime to beat the Browns.
Final Prediction: Carolina -2.5

Additional Picks

Seattle -2 vs. LA Rams: Gonna use the same flawed logic I used last week when talking about the Seahaws-Jacksonville game – I know the Rams are a good team but Seattle is still Seattle and it’s still a tough place to play.

New York Giants +7.5 vs. Philadelphia: Let’s go Giants!!!!! Besides the fact that I’m clearly biased against the Eagles in this situation, the fact that the Eagles are 7.5 point favorites on the road without Wentz is insanity to me. Big Dick Nick Foles has a lot to live up to and I just don’t know if he has it in him.

Detroit vs Chicago Under 44: This is just a gut feeling that comes from watching the Bears and Lions play football for the last two decades. Under all day.
That’s it for this week.
