It is Thanksgiving Week and if you think there is a better week in the calendar year you are just flat out wrong. Thanksgiving is the best holiday there is and I’ll hear nothing else about it. All of the good parts of Christmas (food, family, football) without any of the stress. Just a really, really nice day. Nothing better than that. We also get to watch the 8-2 Vikings play on Thanksgiving this year which is just the cherry on top to an already perfect day.
Minnesota vs. Detroit | Model Says: Detroit +3
In all honesty, I don’t really like this line at all. Detroit kind of scares me and giving them 3 points at home after they’ve already beaten the Vikes on the road seems sort of counter-intuitive. That being said, I didn’t like the Vikes line last week and they easily covered. Also, I do think Minnesota is a much better team and this game will more or less take care of the division, so I think they’ll come out firing. Skol (not a homer pick…. it’s not a homer pick).
Final Prediction: Minnesota -3
Kansas City vs Buffalo| Model Says: Over 45
I’m not sure who is starting at quarterback for the Bills on Sunday, but whether it’s a clearly incompetent Nathan Peterman or the very disrespected Tyrod Taylor, I don’t see Buffalo putting many points up on road at KC. The Chiefs have cooled down after their hot start and I’m seeing this as a low scoring, boring game. This is one of those games you toss some money on the under then don’t watch any of the game and just hope it works out 4 hours later.
Final Prediction: Under 45
Dallas vs. LA Chargers | Model Says: Dallas -1
The last couple of weeks I’ve been on the Dallas train and it has NOT worked out in my favor. I actually think the Chargers might find their way into the playoffs this year but in order to do that they’ll have to go on the road and take care of a struggling Cowboys team. There is turmoil in Dallas and I think Philly Rivers takes advantage of that en route to a big road win.
Final Prediction: LAC +1
Additional Picks
Cincinnati -8 vs. Cleveland: The Browns are bad. They are just really, really bad. That’s pretty much all there is to this game. The Bengals aren’t good, but the Browns are really bad.
Green Bay +14 vs. Pittsburgh: I’d love to know when the last time the Packers were two-touchdown underdogs in a game. Had to be before I was born. I’d love to see the Pack blown out of the Steel City but I just don’t see that happening. I’m still nervous the Packers find a way to go 9-7 so I’m not comfortable giving them two touchdowns even when they suck.
Philadelphia vs. Chicago Under 44: Chicago can’t score and Philly has a great defense. If this over is going to hit the Eagles are going to have to score 30 plus points. Don’t think that’ll happen so I’ll do the unthinkable and bet not one but TWO unders this week. It hurts my heart but it has to be done.
That’s it for this week.
